A special moment of silence and gratitude goes out to the Universe as we begin our 2010 without one of the most beloved teachers in modern Hawaiian history, Aunty Margaret Machado passed to the other side on Dec 27th, 2009. It would not be overstatement to say that without her, I might very well known none of the people I do today and that the opportunity to bring you this kind of authentic cultural offering might very well not exist. A key figure in the rebirth of respect for Hawaiian culture, Kumulomi extraordinaire, visionary and cultural ambassador, her life in one way or another touched most of the people I have met on this island and her presence will be missed as we carry on her mission in our humble way.
